SafeGard Classes Online is committed to the confidentiality and privacy of our customers.  This notice explains our practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.

Information Collection and Use

SafeGard Classes Online will not sell, share, or rent this information to third parties in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Unless the user provides it voluntarily, SafeGard Classes Online does not collect any personally identifiable information about visitors of the website. Some pages permit visitors to request additional information by sending e-mail messages to SafeGard Classes Online that will contain the user’s name and e-mail address, as well as any additional information the user may wish to include in the message. SafeGard Classes Online uses the information provided to fulfill those requests; e-mail addresses are used to answer messages received only.

Privacy and Learner Identity Authentication

Access to members’ records is maintained by the use of a username and password selected by the user. Passwords are encrypted to protect user privacy.  SafeGard Classes Online will not disclose such usernames to third parties without the express written permission of the user. However, each user is likewise responsible for maintaining the privacy and security of this information. Unless the user has granted someone else access to their username and password, other individuals are not permitted to access a member’s records.

Security

SafeGard Classes Online utilizes industry-standard practices to protect your personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration and destruction. Such measures include using firewalls and security layers to protect certain sensitive transmissions of information. SafeGard Classes Online does not store any credit card or payment information.  All payment transactions are PCI DSS compliant. 

While we make every effort to keep your information secure, SafeGard Classes Online cannot guarantee that the information you provide will never be obtained by unauthorized persons.

Retention and Release of Records

SafeGard Classes Online retains information in members’ records for a minimum of seven (7) years. After seven (7) years it will continue to be retained in an archive file indefinitely.

Records are always instantly available to our members by logging in to our website and accessing the appropriate webpage. Certain information is required by some states to be reported by us to the specific State agency. This information is reported according to the agreement we have with a particular State. States have the right to request further verification of information necessary to document appropriate completion of a class, such as, time of utilization, completion of interactive slides, and quiz results. SafeGard Classes Online will not provide specific information, but will verify for them, that an individual did or did not adequately complete all of the class requirements during a specific time period. Evaluation forms may be requested by a state agency as well. We are obligated to provide these to states when requested for quality assurance purposes.

Additionally, some members may work for a program that maintains access to the records of their employees. The employee voluntarily agrees to allow the director or responsible person access to their basic and continuing education records in the SafeGard Classes Online database. This access is granted by the member as identified in their member profile.

Notification of Changes

SafeGard Classes Online reserves the right to change our privacy policy from time to time. If SafeGard Classes Online makes changes our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our website so our users are always aware of what information we collect from them, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose this information to third parties. If at any point SafeGard Classes Online determines to use personally identifiable information collected from our users in a manner that differs from that stated at the time this information was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice whether or not to consent to our using their personal information in accordance with our updated privacy policy.

Non-discrimination Policy

All individuals involved in developing, administering, and delivering learning events must demonstrate high standards of professional conduct and shall not discriminate against learners on the basis of gender, age, socioeconomic or ethnic background, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.

Author Compensation and Disclosure

All instructors contracting with SafeGard Classes Online receive a small percentage of the sales of any of their classes as compensation for their contribution to our training. Additionally, if a product or service in which an author has a commercial interest is promoted in their training, notice to that effect is made in the introductory portion of that class.

All instructors will disclose any proprietary interest in any product, instrument, device, service, or material discussed during the experience, event, or program, as well as the source of any third-party compensation related to the presentation.

Refunds

Your satisfaction is our top priority! If you're not happy with your purchase, just let us know and we'll exchange or issue a full refund within 60 days of purchase for any unfinished course. Refunds requested more than 60 days but less than 180 can be exchanged for another class at the same price as long as it has not been completed for credit.
