NEW TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR WASHINGTON STATE CHILD CARE PROVIDERS
The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Family (DCYF) has issued new training and credential requirements for all child care providers in the state of Washington. These new requirements are in addition to existing STARS training requirements for both initial training and on-going annual training.
The good news is that you can get 12 credits by earning your Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. The CDA is a nationally-recognized credential and may help you meet other requirements throughout your career.
The CDA is a multi-step process that includes 120 hours of training in early childhood education. We've got discounted training packages to help you get started:
- For 1 -4 staff: $259 each for the 120 hour (12 Credits) CDA training package
- For 5-9 staff: $229 each for the 120 hour (12 Credits) CDA training package
- For 10+ staff: $199 each for the 120 hour (12 Credits) CDA training package
Since our classes are all STARS-approved, classes you complete for your CDA can be used to meet your annual 10 hours of STARS training as well. And, these classes will be eligible for reimbursement up to $250 each year.
While you can use these classes for STARS credit as well, you may have other staff that simply need their 10 hours of STARS training.
