Description

Reading a book aloud to children should be a daily activity at home and in all early childhood settings.  Learning how to make read-alouds interactive can help children learn new vocabulary and develop important language skills.

There are a variety of characteristics that make books appropriate for effective read-alouds. If you keep the interests of your audience in mind, their engagement will promote communication. Reading should be FUN and inspire a love for books and communicating for years to come.  

Goal: To learn how to use interactive read-alouds to promote language development and to recognize how to choose appropriate books and supporting activities
