Transportation Safety
This class will focus on the two most consistent uses of transportation in child care facilities: field trips and before/after school transportation. This class also covers safety on and off the facility van or bus.
Goal: to guide teachers and program administrators in how to prepare and conduct field trips to ensure safety of the children and good communication with parents

Learning Outcomes
After completing this class, the student will be able to:
- prepare a checklist of things to consider for a field trip
- explain how to determine costs and prepare for school transportation
- identify key items in developing a transportation policy
- choose the appropriate car seat for children of specific ages, height and weight
- discuss at least 3 areas to consider to promote children’s safety
